Gracie Barra Madrid trains inside Gimnasio Madrid 91, at Calle de Fermín Caballero 60, in the Fuencarral-El Pardo district of northern Madrid (28034). It is a jiu-jitsu program inside a larger gym rather than a standalone Gracie Barra building, and it runs online mainly through a Facebook page under the name Gracie Barra Madrid Norte.
The instructor named by students is Carlos Mediero Martín, a third-degree Gracie Barra black belt. His path into the sport began in Barcelona with Robin Gracie. He later trained and taught in Madrid, then spent about ten years in Brazil with the Gracie Barra team in Salvador, Bahia, under Mauricio Robbe de Almeida, whom he calls his most important teacher. In a 2014 interview, Mediero said that under Robbe he won Brazilian, Pan American and World titles, including the world title in both his weight class and the absolute. He returned to Spain to start Gracie Barra's Madrid project with Robbe. At that time the school was in Usera, in the south of the city. Its current listing places it in the north, at the Fermín Caballero address.
Gracie Barra Madrid does not publish its timetable, programs or prices on a website. Reviews on its gym listing describe adult jiu-jitsu classes taught by Mediero. Other Gracie Barra programs in the Madrid region, such as Gracie Barra Sierra de Madrid, run as separate schools with their own sites.
Visiting and first class
- Schedule and trial: no timetable or trial policy is published, so message the academy on Facebook or call the number on its gym listing before you go.
- Visiting Gracie Barra students: Gracie Barra says members can train at any official school.
Details above were checked on a third-party gym listing and a 2014 interview in October 2026. Confirm the current schedule with the school before you go.
