Gracie Barra South Miami is at 15766 SW 56th Street, Miami, FL 33185, in western Miami-Dade County. Gracie Barra labels it a Premium School.
The school teaches the standard Gracie Barra program ladder, so a visitor from any other Gracie Barra school will recognise the class names:
- GBK: the kids program.
- GBF: jiu-jitsu for women.
- GB1: fundamentals, for beginners and white belts.
- GB2: advanced classes for students with a grounding in the basics.
- GB3: the expert program for senior belts.
- Private classes: booked with the school.
Gracie Barra's page does not list a separate no-gi program.
Gracie Barra's instructor page for South Miami does not name individual coaches. It says only that every instructor is Gracie Barra certified and keeps refining their teaching. If you want to know who runs the mat before you sign up, ask when you book.
The team has had a presence in South Miami for a long time. In 2010, a Gracie Barra Miami academy on SW 62nd Avenue in South Miami was run by Daniel "Montanha" de Lima. We could not confirm that this is the same school as the current SW 56th Street location, so treat it as history, not as the current head instructor.
Visiting and first class
- Free class: the school's page has a "Book Your Free Class" form.
- Schedule: Gracie Barra's page does not show reliable opening hours, so call the school or check the booking form for class times.
- Visiting Gracie Barra students: Gracie Barra says members can train at any official school, so bring your membership details.
Details above were checked on Gracie Barra's school pages in October 2026. Confirm the current schedule with the school before you go.
