Chewjitsu is the YouTube channel and podcast of Nick "Chewy" Albin, an American jiu-jitsu black belt and coach. In 2019 BJJEE called him one of the jiu-jitsu world's favourite YouTube instructors. His videos are known for practical tips and funny, interactive explanations from a coach's point of view.

Background

Albin came to jiu-jitsu through wrestling. In a 2019 interview with BJJEE, he said he played American football in high school and joined the wrestling team near the end of his first season to stay with his friends. He "fell in love with grappling" there. He went on to have an MMA fight before focusing on jiu-jitsu. Stephan Kesting's podcast notes say he left a job in the tech industry to train and teach jiu-jitsu full time.

Coaching

Albin coaches his own students. He told BJJEE that his most meaningful achievement is promoting students to black belt. Podcast notes from 2018 link his school to Derby City Martial Arts.
