Kenny Kim is a jiu-jitsu black belt and the owner of Kenny Kim Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at 800 Whitlock Avenue NW in Marietta, Georgia, in the Atlanta area. Besides running the academy, he leads an affiliation of schools and creates content about academy ownership. His Instagram covers teaching, the business of running a gym, and his show Mat Made.

The academy

Atlanta.com describes Kenny Kim Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as an Atlanta-area school focused on practical grappling, conditioning and community. The academy's website lists these programmes:

  • Adults: Fundamentals, Intermediate/Advanced, No-Gi and Competition classes.
  • Kids and teens: separate youth programmes.
  • Private lessons: one-on-one sessions with the academy's professors.

New students start through the academy's Intro Program; the site doesn't list prices, so contact the academy for details.

Business content

Much of Kim's content is aimed at academy owners rather than competitors. He wrote The Jiu Jitsu Millionaire: How to Build a Profitable Academy & a Life You Love. He hosts Mat Made, which podcast hosts describe as a docuseries. In January 2026 he discussed academy business systems on Nick Lamagna's The A Game Podcast. That episode also mentions a turbulent youth, but gives no details, so we leave his early life out here.

What we could not verify

We found no independent record of who promoted Kim to black belt, his lineage or his competition results, so this page leaves them out.
